Driveway and Walkway Stain Facts

Only 30% of driveway stains are produced by vehicle fluids. The majority (70%) of driveway and concrete staining is caused by fungus, mold, and mildew! So when you’re walking out to your mailbox everyday to check the mail or to carry the trash cans to the curb (with OR without shoes), you’re tracking fungus spores back into your home, car, and even your place of employment….. (gross, isn’t it?).

Your contact with these spores can result in you, your family, your coworkers, and even your pets getting sick. So, by having your driveway and other concrete professionally cleaned by DCS of Fayetteville, you’re not only adding curb appeal to your home and performing suggested maintenance, you’re eliminating massive amounts of contaminates from being tracked in to your home!

Driveway and Concrete Hydro-Surface Cleaning Services Include:

  • Temperature controlled cleaning (cold, hot, and steam utilized)
  • Spot removal (stains and spills on your concrete)
  • Expansion joint cleaning (prevents concrete from cracking)
  • Concrete brightening
  • Interior garage floor cleaning

Driveway Washing Process

  1. Our residential driveway washing process begins with our technicians inspecting your driveway to determine the age and type of concrete. By performing this initial process, it will determine what type of equipment, professional cleaning solutions, and what settings we will use on our equipment to ensure that your driveway cleaning service is optimal to produce the highest quality results.
  2. DCS of Fayetteville primarily uses a machine that attaches to our power washing equipment that’s often called a “surface cleaner” or “surface spinner”. This machine provides optimal driveway pressure cleaning by allowing the operator to adjust the nozzles to maintain a pre-set distance and pressure. This machine resembles a floor buffer, but I CAN assure you, we are not using a floor buffer on your driveway.
  3. Once the equipment is completely setup to optimal conditions, we will begin by applying a professional cleaning solution specifically designed for the type and needs of your driveway. By the time we have finished applying the cleaning solution, we will usually start cleaning your driveway immediately with the surface cleaner. With the addition of the surface cleaner, we will usually raise the temperature of the water depending on ambient and surface temperatures to ensure that we can provide the deepest cleaning possible by allowing the heat to actually allow the pores of the concrete to expand and to assist with the removal of the pollutants that are present.
  4. Once we have completed all of the passes with the surface cleaner, the pollutants have been  removed and the stains (if any were present) have been cleaned to their highest potential, we will begin the rinsing portion of the cleaning process. This is necessary to ensure that all of the dirt and pollutants we just pulled up, don’t dry back on your driveway and allow themselves to set in again. While rinsing, most clients usually opt for us to clean out their expansion joints during the driveway cleaning as well. The purpose of this is to remove built up dirt and wash out from your lawn or surrounding landscape. If that build up is left remaining in your driveway’s expansion joints, it will retain water. And as I’m sure you already know, when water freezes, it expands. Well, unfortunately this will cause your concrete to have stress cracks.
  5. Following the cleaning process, most of our clients can’t believe how clean their concrete looks again. It’s usually a night and day difference. If you happen to be home while this service is being performed, I urge you to look out of an adjacent window to actually watch the process being completed if you have never seen it before. You won’t believe how dirty most of your concrete actually is until you’ve seen our proven results.
